“I didn’t have a background in ag, and I never imagined I’d be managing a team. But CGB saw something in me. I started as a deckhand and worked my way up. That kind of growth—it’s real here.”

Mentorship That Empowers

Our mentoring programs foster inclusion and leadership readiness across all levels.

Lead, Retain, Grow (LRG) is a year-long initiative that champions the advancement of women at CGB. LRG fosters meaningful connections through mentorship, leadership speaker sessions, facility tours, and volunteer opportunities. It’s designed to deepen understanding of the business and prepare participants for future leadership roles.

Leveraging Inclusion by Fostering Talent (LIFT) is a professional development program for hourly employees whose potential has been recognized by their leaders. Through networking and employee engagement, LIFT helps participants overcome advancement barriers and discover new career paths. Many leave the program inspired to become mentors themselves—continuing the cycle of leadership.

Training That Builds Leaders

Our training programs are designed to meet employees where they are and help them grow into where they want to be. Highlights include:

The Grain Leadership Trainee Program is a three-year immersive experience in operations, logistics, merchandising, and risk management. Participants are expected to be promotable within 18 months and gain exposure to senior leaders and regional operations.

The GROW Leadership Development Program is a four-level framework designed to develop leadership skills at every stage of an employee’s career, from foundational skills for new employees to strategic development for senior leaders.

The Impact Series includes targeted programs such as “Selling with Confidence,” “The Art of Speaking,” and “Navigating Difficult Discussions,” each focused on building specific competencies like building a pipeline and sales, public speaking skills, and communication skills.

We believe that investing in our people is the most powerful way to grow our business and our impact. Our culture of development is built on a foundation of continuous learning, inclusive mentorship, and leadership readiness—ensuring every employee has the opportunity to thrive.

Partners

We stay actively connected to our industry, our communities, and the future of agriculture through partnerships and associations. Our employees engage in learning, leadership, stewardship, and service beyond our day-to-day work.

Why We Do It

Because we believe in people. We believe in creating a workplace where everyone has a voice, where ideas are celebrated, and where careers are built with purpose. We believe in taking care of each other—at work and beyond. We believe that our communities where our employees live and work are an important part of our workplace culture.

“It’s been important to me to work for a company that truly cares about its people and the communities in which it operates. I want to know I work for a company that walks the talk. This is demonstrated every day in the ways that CGBers volunteer in their communities, but no more so than when disaster strikes and CGB’s Emergency Response Task Force is activated. A group of dedicated employees who scale mountains to ensure that our people are safe and their immediate needs are met. Whether it’s gutting the houses of coworkers after hurricane Katrina, shipping box trucks of supplies to flooded communities, or collecting blue tarps and generators for the countless weather events we’ve endured, CGB prioritizes its people and their communities.”

CGB Enterprises, Inc.

“At CGB, community isn’t just where we work—it’s who we are. Whether it’s supporting local food banks, responding to natural disasters, or investing in the places our employees call home, we believe in showing up with purpose and heart.”
